Yonan, who has two James Beard Awards, will share his methods for creating simply good food, in great variety and in portions to suit the 31 million single adults feeding themselves every day.
Couples and groups are welcome (you can, after all, double the recipes), but there will be special tables set aside for single diners so they can meet, greet and eat!
The dinner, which includes wine and beer pairings and time to mingle over hors d’oeurves, is $70 for members and $93 for non-members.
Susan Delbert, the Press Club’s executive chef, and Yonan have worked together to create a superb menu. Here are some highlights:
- Sweet Potato and Orange Soup with Smoky Pecans
- Warm Spinach Salad with Shiitakes, Corn and Bacon
- Mahi Mahi with Kiwi-Avocado Salsa and Coconut Rice (vegetarian option available)
- Pan-fried Sirloin with Smashed Potatoes and Anchovy Sauce (vegetarian option available)
- Cherry-Almond Tart
